The guy on the right is Kofa. Here is a story of Kofa. This morning we were driving to work in the Nissan Sunny, which is the standard taxi here in Liberia. It is the perfect little junker (leaks in the rain, brakes are gone). Beauty. Anyway, this morning I started a beat box going along with Zinnah and Kofa was the rapper as we passed UN checkpoints and people waiting for taxis. I have never in all of my years heard "edelweiss" done up as a rap before. But Kofa is amazing. He did remixes on several classic "sound of music" trax. Then...as we were getting closer to town i was learning taxi signals (different hand signs for different stops). I made hand signs to people waiting for a lift. Some started running after us for a ride, others just laughed. It must have looked hilarious - a white driver with three black people as passangers flaggin people down. Too much fun!
