Those proverbs crack me up! I still can't stop wondering if goats sweat.

I heard a new proverb today in church: "The teeth and tongue can fight, but while they're fighting they must still be friendly."

Hi Marcel, don't have your email so thought this the best way to get in touch. I don't suppose, in your collection of Monrovia photos, you have one of the temple of justice "Let justice be done to all men" have you. i am trying to find one (without luck)so that I can put it next to one of it now, with the "men" letters removed.

Cheers

ps thanks for the barber tip, it feels good to get rid of all that hair!
Ivan - i don't get half of them either.

Daylyn - please let me know what your research of the goats shows this summer.

Naomi - i have heard that one too, but a little different version:

"The tongue and the teeth they live together, but they always fight."

Cliff - Glad you liked the chop. He's a bit of an artiste!

Pics of the Justice bldg? I will have to look it up. It may be somewhere in the archive photos. I will keep you posted.

Hey, Marcel (and others) -
My logistician just explained the blind man one to me... Here's what he said: "Da bad ting da man finish deciding to do you to, he already got it in his mind to do, so nothing you can do about it." (I just decided I had to make it as much like Liberian English as possible... I think I'm spending too long in the bush - I realized the other day that I was speaking Liberian English to expats!)
Naomi..."Whaaaat?" That's from Isaac, the haitian sensation.

I loved your entry. Please don't stay in the bush too long.

I just found another great proverb. I will post it today.

It's a frisky one -o. haha

(btw - i had to laugh the other day when i was about to jump on my motorcycle after our bike mechanic tuned it up. He smiled as he said, "dis bike it frisky now o."

oh liberia! i love the land of liberty.
