A "typical" village in Liberia. Most families are just returning to their homes after coming back from Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) and refugee camps. The houses that survived the civil war (read: massacres / wanton destruction) are all rusted out and riddled with bullet holes. The thatch roofs are from those families who just built new houses. Any buildings with zinc roofs are either from NGO funded projects or mining /logging companies or which the legality can be questioned.  Posted by Picasa
