Proverb of the week

"Give the man his flower while he is alive."

Nice. What does it mean to you? And more importantly, how will you apply the principle?

I totally want to have my funeral before I die. why waste a good party on a dead, lifeless being when they could be there for the party, pick the music, tell some jokes, etc.

That would be a FUNeral!

I think this proverb means we should tell our loved ones that they are our loved ones...while we're all still alive. Everyday would be ideal, really.

Is this the Liberian equivalent to "stop to smell the roses"? To take the opportunity to enjoy life while you can... Possibly. Although I read the Liberian definition for when you pull on the rope, and I was WAAY off. Fantastic pictures by the way. You almost look like a cartoon Frenchman. Minus the wilted cigarette
Globalturtle - always interesting ideas pouring from the ever psychedelic ubiqutous world turtle. Invite me to your FUNeral and we will smoke a pipe in your honour.

Ivan - you nailed this one. Precisely what it means. Or if you are a hallmark rep it would mean buy a woman a flower and a card.

Danielle - You got it. Smell those roses or whatever flower has a good scent.

I love that pic too - it was quite a day. Unbelievable how much the Pakistanis love their poses. They even posed with the Lebanese baby that was there. It was a most bizarre day.
